Portola Information Night

Portola Middle School invites you to attend our Information Night on Thursday Nov. 17th at 6:30 in our school cafeteria.

You will:

  • Be welcomed by our wonderful Jazz Band.
  • Meet our new principal, faculty members, parents and students.
  • Learn about our academic curriculum, electives, Spanish immersion program, and we can answer your concerns about safety issues.

Hope to see you there!

Update eScrip Info

eScrip may be the easiest way to give to Fairmont, short of having someone else do it for you. And that's about what it is. When you sign up, the stores that you shop at (Safeway, in particular) donate a small percentage of your total to whomever you designate—in our case Fairmont Elementary.

Anyone can do this. You can even have relatives and friends sign up to benefit our school. It's basically free money. Some schools and educational organizations have raised thousands of dollars per year just having members, friends, and relatives register for eScrip.

Let's make Fairmont one of those schools! You can find instructions here.

Thanks to Grant Writers!

In addition to supporting PlayWorks and Band, the PTA aims to help facilitate enrichment activities for students such as assemblies and field trips. To raise funds for these activities, some parents have been working very hard with teachers to apply for West County Ed Fund Grants. Without grant funding, the PTA does not have enough money to contribute to these fun and educational activities.

Emergency Preparedness Fair - Sept 24

The West Contra Costa Emergency Preparedness Fair will be held September 24, from 10am to 2pm, at the Cerrito Del Norte BART station, 6400 Cutting Blvd., in El Cerrito. Experience free fire and earthquake simulations, face painting and finger printing for kids. The three schools that hae the most attendees at the event will receive disaster preparedness prizes (1st through 3rd place)!
