PTA Meeting Monday at 6:30pm
Please join other members of the PTA this Monday, Nov 14, at 6:30pm in the Fairmont Multipurpose Room to discuss important issues for Fairmont, including our winter membership drive, the upcoming Kindergarten tour and registration, the recent break-ins at the school, the Fairmont Auction, and other programs.
This will also be a meeting for room parents, so we ask that as many room parents attend as possible.
A short PTA board meeting will precede the general meeting, starting at 6PM in the Staff room. As always, anyone is welcome to attend our monthly PTA board meetings. Please note that there will be no board meeting in December; our first board meeting of 2017 is scheduled for January 9 at 6PM.
Cookie Dough Pick Up Tues, Nov 15
The Otis Spunkmyer cookie dough is ready to be picked up! If your family ordered cookie dough it will be ready to be picked up on Tuesday, November 15th, from 2:30 to 3:25, and again from 5:30 to 6:00, in the Fairmont Multipurpose room. The dough will come frozen and must be picked up that day. The PTA does not have any freezer space and cannot keep it over night without the possibility of spoiling.
If you have any questions or are able to help pass out the orders to other families on Tuesday, please sign up at http://signup.com/go/h4G4mT, or contact Anita Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for supporting the PTA, the teachers, and the students.

Message and Thanks from District Superintendent
Sent November 9:
Friends and colleagues,
Last night, our community spoke clearly in favor of our work, passing the parcel tax renewal, Measure T, with nearly 75 percent of the vote. The parcel tax renewal gives us the flexibility to invest more heavily into programs that support our students and teachers.
Thank you for your support of Measure T and for investing in our schools. It took a broad and varied coalition working together to ensure that Measure T passed and I look forward to capitalizing on that energy on behalf of our students in the near future.
We can also be thankful that Proposition 55 passed, which ensured a continued source of stable funding for schools statewide.
As we try to make sense of national politics, let’s remember that we have an even greater impact locally. What we do with our schools and in our communities is what will matter to our children and prepare them for whatever the future may bring.
