Science Fair Showcase & Thanks

Looking for some fun experiments to work on with your child over the summer? Wondering what upper grade science looks like? Join us for our annual Science Fair Showcase Thursday, June 1st from 6 - 7pm. There are around 175 different projects to view. Thanks to everyone who helped with judging. Hope to see you there.

Sixth Grade Promotion

Fairmont's 6th Grade Promotion Ceremony is June 8 at 10am in the Multipurpose Room. Families of sixth-grade students are invited to attend. We ask that you limit your party to 3 guests. Reception & potluck to follow ceremony.

We need your help!

We are asking families to make a donation of $10 dollars or more. We need donations to cover the costs of decorations, plates, cups, cutlery, napkins and the small gift to the teachers. Please give your donation to Nigora (Alisher’s mom), Fumio (Kai’s mom), Tim (Orion’s dad), or Mary (Maya’s mom) by June 1st, 2017. Thank you!!

Volunteers Needed-Golden Gate Fields Fundraiser

We are less than 2 weeks out from our Golden Gate Fields Fundraiser, June 11th. We still need several people to help, especially for the afternoon shifts. It's a just a couple of hours and actually quite fun! Sign up: https://signup.com/go/siY6yU

Summer Reading

Keep your child's reading skills sharp by encouraging them to read all summer long. Stave off the "summer slide" by offering your student a variety of books to read and allowing them to choose books which interest them. Stop by the Fairmont Book Exchange to pick up something new to read over the summer. Have books you are ready to pass on to another eager student? Please drop them off at the exchange located in the lower grade building (across from room 3).

In addition, check out the summer reading program offered through the El Cerrito Library, "Build Your Brain". The program runs June 5th-August 5th. Win prizes and promote family reading. There is even a suggested adult reading list so model healthy reading habits for your child by promoting family reading. http://ccclib.org/reads/summerreading/

The El Cerrito Library also offers Tinker Tuesdays from 2-3 PM beginning in June. This is a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) focused activity that caters to children ages 5-17.
