Events & Info
After you drop something off for our Staff Appreciation Breakfast (see volunteer oppts), join us for coffee and pastries on Friday the 27th at 8:30am in the MPR . Hear all the latest news from Mrs. Bernhardt.
Learn about all things "online" at this informal meeting Friday 27th after the Principal's Coffee (around 9am) in the MPR. This will be a basic computer tutorial which will cover things related to school such as how to download applications your teacher may be using, how to set up an email account, how to use the tablets being sent home, how to register to be a classroom volunteer, and how to translate the newsletter. For questions please email April: email@example.com or Dawn: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Saturday, October 28th is the annual Fall Festival at Fairmont from 4pm-7pm. This will be a fun filled family event with a Día de los Muertos theme. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween Costumes. There will be fun games, face painting, cornhusk doll making, the cake walk & more! Please join us with your families. Wristbands & Tickets will be sold at the ticket booth! Hope to see you there!
The El Cerrito High School Marching Band will be at our school on October 31st at 9:20 AM for the first parade of the day. ONLY kindergarten students should wear their costumes to school so they will be ready for the parade. They are the only classes that actively participate in the first parade. Grades 1-6 will be on the yard to view the parade. The second parade will be at 1:15 PM. Parents wishing to view this parade may come on campus at 1:05 PM. Students in grades 1-6 are to bring (not wear) their costume to school. There will be time for them to put on their costumes in the classroom (not the bathroom) AFTER lunch recess. Please note that their costumes should be worn over their clothes. No masks or toy weapons (plastic swords/guns/knives) are allowed. Check with your teacher for any classroom activities. Student's will be dismissed at 2:05 PM.
Schedule News: Many Minimum Days Coming Up
As teacher conferences dates approach (November 1-8), make sure you have an appointment with your child’s teacher to meet one-on-one to review your child’s progress. Also be aware that during conference “season”, there is no school on November 1, and there are extra minimum days to give the faculty time to meet with parents. November 2, 3, 6, 7, and 8 are all minimum days, and there are no FASEP classes on these dates to allow the classrooms to be used for conferences. If your child is regularly picked up at 2:40 from school, or attends a FASEP
class, please make arrangements for pickup at 2:05 on these dates. Finally, to avoid distraction, children are not recommended to attend the teacher conferences. If this creates a hardship for you, please discuss it with the teacher in advance.
