Family Literacy Night
Thursday, January 25th is Family Literacy Night from 6-8PM. Come to school in your PJs (yes, even adults may wear their PJs!) and enjoy milk and cookies while the younger kids listen to stories read aloud and the upper grades will have Harry Potter trivia going on. It's sure to be a blast so please join us!
Macaroni Grill Fundraiser
Monday, Jaunuary 29th visit Macaroni Grill between 11am-10pm and 20% of your purchase will be donated back to Fairmont. Please either bring the flyer (see below) or mention Fairmont Benefit Night! Invite your friends and family to join in.
Books for Free
Have you visited the Fairmont Book Exchange? It is in the hallway of the primary classroom building. Please take a book to keep for free. Or leave a gently-used book that your child has outgrown. And keep on reading!
A book seen recently at the Fairmont Book Exchange (or find it at the public library!):
Eleven by Patricia Reilly Giff
Sam is almost 11 when he discovers a locked box in the attic above his grandfather's room, and a piece of paper that says he was kidnapped. There are lots of other words, but Sam has always had trouble reading. To Sam, words are impossible. Who can he trust to help him read the documents that could unravel the mystery of who he is? And why does he keep having strange dreams about the number 11? This book is recommended for grades 4-6.
Fairmont Student moves on to State Level Reflections Showcase
Congratulations are in order for second grader Clara Cunningham. She has advanced on to the state level in primary literature in the PTA Reflections Showcase. She is one of only four from our PTA district moving on to the state level.
LCAP Town Meetings, Wednesday January 24th
