Welcome Our New Secretary!
Please give a warm welcome to our new Fairmont addition! Cresol Navarro is our new office clerk, she transferred from Bayview where she worked for 4 years! She is bilingual in English & Spanish. Cresol is excited to be a part of our Fairmont Family!
Please join us Friday, February 8th from 6-8 PM in the MPR for Game Night. You may bring a table top game but we will have plenty on hand for you to play with your kids. We will also be selling Gamewright Games (Sushi Go, Outfoxed, Sleeping Queens, Etc). 50% of the proceeds will come back to the Fairmont PTA and we will also be selling pizza and drinks. Hope to see you there!
Valentine Candy Grams
Valentine Candy Grams will be available for $1 in the office after school from February 5th through February 13th. Mr. Ko's class will deliver Candy Grams to students and staff on February 14th. Proceeds benefit the 5th grade science trip to Point Bonita.
The spelling tests will take place this week! Please turn in all money by Feb. 15 to be eligible for prizes. The easiest way to collect pledges is by registering online at: https://pledgestar.com/fairmont. Students who spell all of their words correctly will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift card to Barnes and Noble, so get spelling!
PTA Board Meeting
The PTA Board will meet on Thursday, February 7th, in the Staff Lounge. Just a reminder that any PTA member is welcome to join us for these meetings! If you are interested in getting more involved, please come by.
6th Grade Promotion
Hello 6th Grade Parents! Our children will be promoted to 7th grade before you know it. To make their last year at Fairmont special, our Promotion Committee has already started planning. If you would like to be a part of the planning, please plan to attend the meeting. 6th graders are welcome to partake.

Girls in Engineering UC Berkeley
We’d like to invite girls from your school to apply to UC Berkeley’s Girls in Engineering summer camps! All Bay Area girls who are currently in 5th, 6th, or 7th grade can apply to our camps. (Flyer is attached.) For more information, please visit our website: http://girlsinengineering.berkeley.edu/

Come see the work of our students at our annual science fair.
This is a family-friendly event, where younger students can see more advanced projects. It's fun for them to see.
We are pleased to announce special guests.....The American Chemical Society will be on hand with a science show and hands-on demonstrations! Don't Miss it!
The tentative schedule for the evening is.....
6:30pm: Arrival, Korematsu science fair project viewing and hands-on activities.
7:00pm: Chemistry show on stage.
7:30-8:00 p.m. More hands-on demonstrations, talk to the scientists, and viewing of projects.
8:00pm: Wrap up
