Fairmont currently has three after school program options.
Fairmont Expanded Learning Program 2015-2016
This year WCCUSD and the non-profit organization Love.Learn.Success. have partnered to bring Fairmont Elementary an expanded learning program five days a week “beyond the bell” of the regular school day. The goal is a quality program and it includes academics, enrichment and nutrition. This year the program offers guitar, illustration, gardening, Nigerian Dance, crafts, and creative writing, drama, and mural. Staff provide homework help and focus on academic skill building.. The program is funded by a grant (ASES) provided by the state. All students (grades 1 – 6) are welcomed to apply, but priority is given to students who will attend all five days. Other criteria can take precedence as mandated by the grant. We have capacity to support 80-100 students. Currently the program is full and there is a waiting list. Look for an application for the next school year in the spring.
City of El Cerrito After School Program
Provides a fee-based service. Students may participate 2-5 days per week and will be charged an hourly rate. The focus of the program is more recreational and will be available for students in grades K-6. Applications and proposed 2015-16 rates are available at Fairmont or the El Cerrito Community Center. Registration for this fee-based program opened April 20, 2015.
If you need further assistance or have questions about these options, please call the After School Program Office at (510) 307-4652.
Furthermore, Fairmont offers high-quality, one-hour enrichment classes through FASEP — Fairmont's After School Enrichment Program — a joint partnerships between our PTA and the East Bay Center for Performing Arts. FASEP offers three sessions per year; fees apply but scholarships are available. Visit our FASEP page for current session details.
All of Fairmont's after school programs coordinate together for the benefit of Fairmont's students.
